Volunteers gather on Wednesday and Saturday mornings, from 9:00am until 11:00am. We announce which garden we’ll be working on the day before each gathering, so check this page to see where we will be meeting.
Today's rain is peripatetic and to lessen the chance of getting caught in it, the ESTC Greening is cancelled.
Today's Greening will begin at the Rotary Garden on 5th Ave and move westward to continue pruning and weeding before winter sets in.
Saturday's Greening will begin at Merchants Park on Cookman and Main St and then move eastward to Press Plaza on Cookman and Mattison Ave. As winter approaches we will continue deadheading and weeding. Dress warm.
Wednesday's greening will be the first of several lessons in hope. Spring bulbs will be planted at Press Plaza and The Public Library Garden and eventually several other gardens. The Shade Tree Commission purchased 14 street trees which will be planted during this time of hope as well as in the coming weeks.
Wednesday’s Greening will be on Bergh Ave between 1st and 2nd Aves with the planting of several trees from 9-11 AM.
Saturday's ESTC Greening will begin on Langford Avenue between 4th and 5th Avenues, where trees will be planted. The greening will end at St. John's Island to replace a Memorial Tree that was vandalized.
Wednesday's Greening will begin at St. John"s Island to replace a tree that had recently been vandalized. Depending on the DPW schedule, who will be digging 3 new tree pits, volunteers will then go to 1606 Sewall Avenue. Otherwise, autumn garden cleanup will begin on Lake Avenue at the Children's Garden.
There will be a SUG on Friday, 11/3/23 beginning at 9:30 AM at the Children's Garden on Lake Avenue east of Heck Ave. Volunteers will be doing a final autumn cleanup of the gardens on Lake Ave getting therm prepared for winter.
Wednesday's ESTC Greening (11/8/23) will be the planting of Spring bulbs beginning at the Children's Garden on Lake Avenue just east of Heck Avenue.
The ESTC received permission from the City Manager and City Engineer to clean up and plant Spring bulbs at the Rainbow Bridge Memorial Garden on Lake Ave at the south end of Kennedy Park. Wednesday's ESTC greening will begin and end at the Civil War Garden on Cookman and Grand Avenue from 9-11am. Pruning and planting are on the agenda.
Saturday's ESTC Greening 9-11 AM will be at Gratitude Garden and City Hall for pruning, deadheading and possibly Spring bulb planting.
