Boardwalk south of the Casino, Asbury Park NJ
The coastal garden began as a passion project started by Art Robrecht many years ago. Art collected discarded Christmas trees to help establish the dunes, planted cuttings from established dune plants along our shoreline (including grasses, cacti, and beach roses), and worked with our department of public works to fence off the area and protect it from being disturbed. Art’s garden flourished, and in 2021, he enlisted the Asbury ESTC to take over its maintenance and development. Sadly, Art passed away in the autumn of 2021. This garden is dedicated to his memory and his passion.
